Hope this helps

when  she started with 5 feet, she then cuts off 3 and 3/4 feet to make a hair bow, being left with 5 - 33/4 = 11/4 feet. Then she cuts off 5/6 feet to make a border on a scrapbook page, being left with. 11/4 - 5/6 = 5/4 - 5/6. = 15/12 - 10/12. = 5/12 feet. If she needs to cut 2 1/3-feet pieces, she will need 2(1/3) = 2/3 feet.
